ABOUT THE ALBUM/OFFICIAL
These musically spirited songs were created and recorded at LRS Recording studio located in the middle of one of four major farms in Hurley, NY. The Studio is across from Hurley Mountain on Hurley Mountain Road. The town of Old Hurley is located in Ulster County, NY, west of the city of Kingston, the original Capital of New York State that fell to the British. Hurley s Main Street is part of the National Register of Historic Sites due to its well-preserved stone houses that have served as residences for more than 300 years.
Hurley is twelve miles east of Woodstock and located In the surrounding areas are the reservoirs which supply drinking water 100 miles south to New York City. In 1917, New York City’s need for a dependable water supply resulted in land condemnation and the flooding of the valley to create the Ashokan reservoir and others.
The flooded villages of Ashokan, Clenford, and West Hurley were resettled on the shores of the reservoir, but the town of Ashton was never relocated. These songs reflect the lives and events of this agricultural community of close-knit families and relate stories about folks who lived here rich in Americana history. Hurley continues to be an agricultural community supplying grain and com to the growing communities of New York State.
LRS studio has been Professor Louie & The Crowmatix clubhouse for many years. They opened their doors to legendary ngineers, producers, local musicians of the Hudson Valley and national acts such as The Band, Graham Parker, Commander Cody, Rick Danko, Dave Brubeck & Sons, Buckwheat zydeco, Guy Davis, New Riders Of The Purple Sage.
Four Men & A Dog and more who came to record and create their music in this peaceful setting. Creative energy emerges from the wonders of this beautiful prime farmland and the spirit of those who spent time on Hurley Mountain Road. The musicians who have recorded here continue to record and evolve and Inspire music for the soul.

Their 12th CD is inspired by the beautiful farmlands next to their recording studio in the Catskill Mountains. It's a spirited collection of 13 songs - 11 originals and select tunes. This mix of originals, traditional tunes, heartfelt vocals and blistering guitar riffs from The Crowmatix brings fans inside the musical heritage that has shaped their sound and made them one of the Hudson Valley’s most beloved bands. Great performances by Prof. Louie, Miss Marie, Gary Burke, Frank Campbell, John Platania, Josh Colow and special guest violinist Larry Packer.

BIOGRAPHY/AMG
Formed by Aaron L. Hurwitz, the Crowmatrix play contemporary blues that is clearly rooted in the form’s early tradition. Hurwitz had earlier played keyboards with the Mighty Gospel Giants Of Harlem and toured with Mercury Rev. He produced albums by Four Men And A Dog and, most notably, produced and played on albums by the Band. Among other bands with which he played, sometimes recording and producing albums, are the David Nelson Band and Graham Parker. For his own group he plays keyboards, Hammond organ and accordion, also singing and writing most of the arrangements. Reportedly, the original concept was intended to develop some of Hurwitz’s songs that might be performed by the Band. Among other musicians to play in the group are Miss Marie (b. Marie Spinosa; vocals), Jim Eppard (guitar/mandolin), Mike Demicco (guitar/mandolin), Mike Dunn (bass), Gary Burke (drums), Josh Colow (guitar), and Frank Campbell (bass). The 2004 album Century Of The Blues followed a loose historical path through the form, using original material by Hurwitz and members of the group as well as established songs from the blues repertoire. Based in the New York area, the group make occasional, limited tours.
With the Crowmatix, Hurwitz also appeared on record with Garth Hudson (The Sea To The North), and with Rick Danko (Times Like These). Earlier, Hurwitz had played in duo with Danko to considerable acclaim.
