"Glory Bound is the latest effort from Robert Jon and the Wreck, which follows up 2013’s EP, Rhythm of the Road. One thing is clear after taking Glory Bound for a spin, Robert Jon and the Wreck is a group to watch on the blues rock scene.
The album opens with “The Devil Is Your Only Friend,” and it’s obvious Robert Jon and the Wreck have the southern blues rock sound down pat. The group’s sound is similar to that of the Temperance Movement, which is definitely a good thing. Glory Bound is filled with catchy hooks, melodies, and memorable choruses. Such is in the case with tracks like “When I Die” and “Georgia Mud.” “Georgia Mud” was featured on Rhythm of the Road, but was re-recorded for Glory Bound. The track features a killer opening riff, which will make the listener crank up the volume. The title track is another standout, “So lay your burdens down, watch the world keep turning ’round, so lay your burdens down, and we’ll be glory bound,” sings Robert Jon, which is capped off by some tasty slide playing.
While the year is still young, Glory Bound may end up as one of the year’s best albums. The album has it all with great variety in the songs and excellent musicianship. This is is band that deserves more exposure and attention, so jump on the train now because Robert Jon and the Wreck are coming down the tracks."

Reigning from Southern California, Robert Jon & The Wreck are taking the Southern Rock sound established on the East Coast and bringing it to the West Coast. These 5 Californian’s: Robert Jon Burrison (Vocals/Guitar), Kristopher Butcher (Vocals/Guitar), Andrew Espantman (Drums), Steve Maggiora (Vocals/Keys), Dave Pelusi (Vocals/Bass), live by three simple words…music, miles, and whiskey.
This quintet began their musical journey together in February 2013. Within 6 months the band had not only embarked on a national tour, but also released their debut EP, “Rhythm of the Road,” produced by Warren Huart (The Fray, Aerosmith), engineered by Philip Allen (Adele), and mastered by Robert Vosgien (Smashing Pumpkins, No Doubt) at Swing House Studios in Hollywood. This new, and even edgier material has simply added more fuel to the fire that Robert Jon & The Wreck ignite while performing. Audiences nationwide have crammed venues, salivating over a band that is determined to not miss the mark. This sharpshooter like mentality was fully recognized when Robert Jon & The Wreck won the title of “Best Live Band” at the 2013 Orange County Music Awards, along with nominations in the categories of “Best Rock,” and “Best Blues.”
Fueled by this success, the Wreck took to the road delivering fierce performances, emblazoned with commitment and dripping in a rawness that’s impossible to fake. Simply put, it is difficult to ignore when these five musicians take the stage. Little wonder they have made an impact on audiences across the USA and Europe, where they’ve played a run of sold-out shows and proudly shared bills with talent the likes of Billy Sheehan (Steve Vai, David Lee Roth), Rodney Atkins, Andy Grammar, Black Stone Cherry and RIVAL SONS.
They returned to the studio in summer of 2014 in-between tours to record their debut album, produced by Warren Huart (The Fray, Aerosmith), at the legendary Sunset Sound Studios (Led Zeppelin, Prince, The Doors) in Hollywood, CA. Recording the 10 track album, “Glory Bound” live from the floor with minimal overdubs, the band found their sound and strength in their songs. “Glory Bound” was released on February 24, 2015 and is now available on all major digital media outlets, as well as physically via their online store or at Creme Tangerine Records in Costa Mesa, CA..
Over the past two years, the band has played notable festivals, along with their self-booked tour including SXSW, performances at Vans Warped Tour, Country Thunder headlined by Keith Urban & Brad Paisley, River Roots Live headlined by Los Lonely Boys and Robert Randolph and the Family Band and Chinook Fest ’13 and ’14 with Sturgill Simpson and The Silent Comedy, and Rocklahoma headlined by Linkin Park, Godsmack and Tesla.
